Windows Live Mail Essentials 2012

People running Windows Essentials 2012 on Windows 10 received an email from the Outlook team yesterday informing them of an update for the bundled Windows Live Mail 2012 application required to continue sending and receiving emails on Windows 10. However, the update ended up crashing Mail 2012 for a lot of people.

In a few weeks, we will be making some changes to our email services that might impact your @outlook.com, @hotmail, @live or @msn email account. These changes will prevent your email from being delivered to the Windows Live Mail 2012 application that you use.

Of course, after going through this and getting Live Mail 2012 back in operation, I now have to wait for thousands of old emails I had kept to download back into my inbox, sent folder, and drafts. And, for this, my processor is being overworked and the fan is howling.

First thing to note: there is no "Windows Live Mail 2013": the latest version of Microsoft's free email program is Windows Live Mail 2012, available for Vista, Windows 7 / 8 / 8.1 . Note that Windows Live Mail can also be installed, and runs fine, on Windows 10! (Windows 10 does come with a built-in email program, but it's very basic.) This tutorial explains the free download and installation - screenshots were taken on Windows 7, but the process is the same for all supported version of Windows. You can't download Windows Live Mail alone, but we'll show you how to customize the setup to include only the programs you want (versus all the Windows Live apps).

Once the E-mail Migration of 2018 is complete, customers with an e-mail address that ends with @widomaker.com (or tni.net) will need to update the settings in their e-mail software. This article contains instructions for customers using the Windows Live Mail 2012 e-mail software, on their desktop, or laptop computer.

Windows Essentials is a discontinued suite of Microsoft freeware applications that includes instant messaging, email, photo sharing, blogging, as well as parental control program. It is formerly named Windows Live Essentials or Windows Live Installer. Essentials apps are designed to integrate well with each other, with Windows operating system (OS), and with other Microsoft web-based services like Outlook.com and OneDrive.live.com.

It appears that you are currently using Windows Live Mail 2012 to connect to your Outlook.com account. Windows Live Mail 2012 does not support the synchronization technologies used by the new Outlook.com. When account upgrades begin at the end of June, you will no longer be able to receive email sent to your Outlook.com account in Windows Live Mail 2012. Rest assured, you can always access your email by logging into Outlook.com from any web browser, and you will continue to have access to all your data that is currently in Windows Live Mail 2012.

Windows Live Essentials 2012 - Windows Live Essentials gives you instant messaging, e-mail, blogging, photos, and much more. It is a set of free applications that allow you to easily create, communicate and share from your Windows PC to your favorite places on the web and to your mobile phone. This suite of applications from Windows Live, called Windows Live Essentials, is regularly updated to provide innovative functionality and best-of-breed integration with Windows Live and other popular web services, while harnessing the power of the Windows PC for capturing, editing and organizing your digital stuff. The applications included in this release are Windows Live Messenger, Windows Live Photo Gallery, Windows Live Mail,Windows Live Writer, Windows Live movie Maker (beta), Windows Live Family Safety, and Windows Live Toolbar.

What's more, the email, which was sent to many Live Mail users over the last few days, was slightly heavy handed in its recommendations that users upgrade to Windows 10 in the process too. It states that anyone using older versions of Windows Live Mail should simply upgrade to Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 and simply use their built-in email clients (which many users claim are inferior), while a link to the update for the 2012 version initially landed on a page that appeared to be mostly about upgrading to Windows 10 than updating Windows Live Mail (it's since been changed).

Windows Live Mail is still the preferred email client of choice for millions of people. Despite having not been updated since 2012, the client, which is part of the Windows Essentials 2012 package, offers a clear rather understated experience that can tap into several email accounts from the likes Microsoft and Google and has a decent calendar function built-in too. In fact, many people prefer it over the somewhat limited Mail app in Windows 10.

I just installed this update because I like Live Mail 2012 and its totally killed it. I can no longer access any of my email accounts from any provider as the client simply says it has stopped working and closes. I either have to go through the hassle of uninstalling it and trying again in the hope it doesn't kill it or switch to outlook which I really don't like.

EDIT: Here are some possible fixes for users experiencing issues since installing the update to Windows Live Mail 2012 - courtesy of Microsoft's Community Forum. I'm waiting on a response from Microsoft on the issue so if these fixes don't work for you our you'd prefer to wait for a fix from them sit tight. You can still access you emails and calendar online - it's just Windows Live Mail that's having issues.

FWIW, I ditched the comfortable experience of Livemail 2012 a few years back as it went out of support and moved to Mozilla Thunderbird.I do wish Livemail would be resurrected and improved upon for this decade..I live in hope

This one has me stumped, I've been troubleshooting the issue for about a week and still no resolution. Whenever the user clicks on "new email" or tries to reply to another email, a window will pop up briefly and then WLM will crash. I have tried recreating their account, a clean install of both essentials 2012 and essentials 2011 (both had the same issue) and I also uninstalled the anti virus. All of which did not help at all. The software is working fine for other users on the network.

Windows Live Mail (WLM) is a freeware email client (but now discontinued by Microsoft). It was a successor to Windows Mail (Windows Vista), the successor to Outlook Express (Windows XP and Win98). Since 2013, many problems had been reported with Windows Live Mail 2012. One such problem was that the deleted emails kept returning day after day. These days a different error/bug is causing trouble for some Windows Live Mail users. Due to this server error code 0x800CCC90, the user is unable to send or receive messages. In this case, all of your unsent emails are sent to Outbox. Several users have reported that this error might be triggered by the interference of antivirus software or other third-party software.

According to Microsoft support, Microsoft has discontinued support for Windows Essentials 2012 suite.owadays, MS Outlook is widely used and is considered the most trusted email client. Therefore, it might be the right time to migrate from Windows Live Mail to Outlook. It is much easier to work with PST files than with EML files. But for EML to PST conversion, one requires a professional tool. One such tool is EML to PST Converter. This tool comes packed with many advanced features. It supports various EML platforms such as Windows Mail, Windows live mail, Thunderbird, Eudora, etc. Also, it supports all Windows versions, including Windows 10 and all previous versions. EMLX files of Apple Mail.

hello bolt hope your well.. can you tell me if this will work with windows vista home basic 32-bit 2007, am trying to download windows live Essentials but am not right sure in which version to get it so it works for mine, am not right good with computers and stuff, kind regards paul

The genuine wlmail.exe file is a software component of Windows Live Essentials by Microsoft Corporation."Wlmail.exe" is the name of Microsoft's principal executable process for Windows Live Mail, located in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Live\Mail" or a similar subfolder of "C:\Program Files" on 32-byte systems. It was released as part of Windows Live Essentials. Incompatible differences exist between "wlmail.exe" from Windows Live Mail 2011 in Windows Essentials 2011 and "wlmail.exe" from Live Mail 2012 in Windows Essentials 2012. Neither can be downloaded any longer from Microsoft and copying the wrong "wlmail.exe" from another system will cause Live Mail to crash due to version conflict with the functions it calls from external libraries. 041b061a72
